Overview

Dharmasthala is a town in the southwest Indian state of Karnataka. The centuries-old Sri Manjunatha Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is a place of Hindu pilgrimage known for its large statue of the revered figure Bahubali. The Manjusha Museum’s eclectic collection includes manuscripts and early wooden chariots. Nearby, the Car Museum features vintage automobiles, including a 1920s Studebaker used by Mahatma Gandhi.

Kukke Subramanya (IAST: Kukke Subrahmaṇya) is a Hindu temple in the village Subramanya in Kadaba taluk (previously in Sullia taluk) in Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka, India. Kartikeya is worshipped as Subramanya, lord of all serpents in the temple. Epics say that the divine serpent Vasuki and other serpents found refuge under Subramanya when threatened by the Garuda. The priests in the temple are Shivalli Madhwa Brahmins. The poojas and other daily rituals in the temple are performed as per Madhvacharya’s Tantra Sara Sangraha.

Day 1: Bangalore to Dharmasthala & Kukke Subramanya

• Dharmasthala:

• Late Afternoon/Evening: Travel to Kukke Subrahmanya.

Day 2: Kukke Subramanya & Return to Bangalore

• Morning:
• Kukke Subrahmanya Temple: Visit the Adisubrahmanya Temple and the main temple.
